Good Mother Gallery is pleased to present, ‘In Passing’, an exhibition of new work from Bay Area based artists, Henry Fey, Bryon Christman, Alicia Mccarthy Pablo De Pinho and Oliver Hawk Holden.
The cultivation of a personal art practice can be confusing in the 21st century. With access to every known and upcoming artist in a vast digital network, it is easy to get lost in the stream of art and to be satisfied with viewing artwork from a screen. The Bay Area, having a close knit and diverse art community due to its size and convenience of transportation, counteracts this by artists coming together, constantly collaborating and interacting in person. “In Passing”, is an exhibition between 5 artists who have been in conversation for years within the Bay Area. Working with shape, form, color and intricate line work in their own manner and styles, the progressive influence on each other has formed in a very special way compared to how one would work without a community to interact and grow with.
